About Me
As a child, I always wanted to know how things worked. I spent hours taking things apart and putting them back together.
As an engineer, I learned about structural support, materials and their properties, bonding methods and problem solving.
In the 1980's, I started working with stained glass. I had been active in solar energy system design and installation which involved glass, copper, soldering and light. Stained glass built on those experiences and provided an outlet for my creativity and aesthetic sensibilities. Though I enjoyed it, business travel and family life left me little time for the hobby. Now that I am retired, my stained glass work has become an integral part of my life.
For the majority of my career, I worked in cutting edge technologies as a project manager in an IT environment. Working with new technologies was predicated on an ability to be open minded and finding new applications for those technologies as they emerged.
I am a firm believer in re-purposing materials. Why create waste when you can re-purpose? I find it both stimulating and satisfying to give new life to an object that was going to be discarded and trashed.
